About Yunnan College of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Language

Yunnan College of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Language was approved by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China agreed to put it on record after examination. It was incorporated into the national plan for unified enrollment, and it is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college that independently issues the qualifications of academic diplomas recognized by the state. The college was invested and built by Henderson Group. The investor, Mr. Henderson Yang, is a German Chinese. Now the college has invested 420 million yuan, which is the largest educational foreign investment project in our province. The college covers an area of 393.58 mu, with a building area of 153,167 square meters and a planned building area of 262,387.6 square meters. There is an independent library with a collection of 481,800 books, including 100,000 e-books. There are comprehensive teaching buildings, training rooms, multi-functional activity rooms, standardized track and field and basketball courts, apartments for faculty, foreign teachers and international students, standard student dormitories, canteens, school clinics and modern network rooms. The logistics support system is relatively perfect and the equipment is advanced, which provides guarantee for students’ study and life. At present, the college has formed a leading group of unity and harmony officers. At the same time, the college has also formulated the Articles of Association of Academic Committee of Yunnan Foreign Affairs and Foreign Languages Vocational College, the Articles of Association of Trade Union of Yunnan Foreign Affairs and Foreign Languages Vocational College, the Administrative Work System of Yunnan Foreign Affairs and Foreign Languages Vocational College and other rules and regulations related to the board of directors, party committees and administration, so that the college has stepped into the track of “running the school according to law”. The college was rated as “4A-level social organization” by Yunnan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, and it has stepped out of the initial stage and entered the track of virtuous circle development.

At present, the college has established cooperative relations with foreign universities such as Chiang Mai University in Thailand, Royal University of Naburi in Kanta, Thailand, Naruixuan University in Thailand, Pafu University in Thailand, Pierce University in the United States, Dongzhou University in South Korea, Hunan University in South Korea, jeonju university, Global London College in the United Kingdom, etc., and implemented joint training of talents, sharing of curriculum resources, and joint construction of practical training bases. At present, there are 9 overseas training bases that have reached cooperation consensus with the college, which can be used for nursing, preschool education and hotel management. In 2016, our school established the “Chinese Language and Culture Center” at the Royal University of Bibi, Thailand. With the further implementation of Yunnan’s strategic positioning of “radiation center” for South Asia and Southeast Asia and the launch of the national “the belt and road initiative” opening strategy, the school-running characteristics of Yunnan Foreign Affairs and Foreign Languages Vocational College will highlight its own personality and characteristics.

At present, there are 32 majors in three-year college, 23 majors in five-year college, 10 majors in three-year technical secondary school, 4 majors in one-year technical secondary school and 9 majors in adult education. It involves nine major categories, such as culture and education, financial management, architecture, medicine and health, and enrolls students in seven provinces and cities in China.

The college has a team of full-time and part-time teachers and employs foreign teachers to teach in the school. The title of associate high or above accounts for 13.5% of full-time teachers; Master degree or above accounts for 28.6% of full-time teachers; The proportion of double-qualified teachers is 42.43%. There are 6 school-level famous teachers, 3 school-level teaching teams and 1 provincial-level famous teacher visiting scholar. To strengthen the training of professional leaders and key teachers, 6 professional leaders and 14 key teachers have been identified, and a resource pool of 114 external teachers mainly from enterprises and universities has been established. The college pays attention to practical teaching and the cultivation of students’ professional ability, and has built 36 on-campus training bases and 42 off-campus training bases.

The college has successively hired foreign experts and professors from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, and Thailand to carry out education and teaching work in the college. The college has sent 12 teachers to overseas for further study and training. It has sent 6 batches of exchange students to partner universities in Thailand, 4 batches of exchange students, 3 batches of exchange students to partner universities in Korea, 3 batches of exchange students, and 1 batch of Japanese students. .
